The approach

Premium form,
engineered to make

01
Concept & intent
Establishing the product's formal language — proportions, primary volumes, surface character. What it communicates before it is even held.
02
Industrial design
Surface development in Alias — the same Class A discipline applied to consumer products. Highlight flow, tangency across complex form transitions, material break strategy.
Class A quality
03
Engineering resolution
Tooling split lines, draft angles, snap fit and assembly geometry, wall thickness — resolved during surface modelling with a manufacturing background that most designers don't have.
DFM embedded
04
Production-ready data
Clean, structured surface data with visualisation renders for stakeholder review and tooling-ready geometry for manufacture. One handover — no rework.
What I bring

Three decades of making
behind every design

Premium surface quality
Class A surface discipline applied to consumer products — the same curvature continuity, highlight quality, and tangency standards used on production BMW and Polestar programmes, translated into product form.
Injection moulding mastery
Twelve years in injection moulding before automotive design. Tooling design, gate locations, ejector pin strategy, shrinkage management, weld lines — not learned from a textbook. Lived on the factory floor.
Material & finish specification
Understanding of how materials behave in production — surface texture vs tool texture, paint adhesion, metallic effects, soft-touch coatings, chrome-effect plastics. Finishes specified with production realities in mind.
Visualisation pipeline
Blender rendering pipeline used throughout product development for design evaluation and stakeholder presentation. Accurate material simulation, lighting studies, and final presentation renders from the same model.
Assembly & ergonomics
Snap fit geometry, living hinge design, assembly sequence — ergonomic hand study for held and operated products. Products designed to be used, not just to look right in a render.
From concept to tooling data
The complete journey — concept, industrial design, engineering resolution, visualisation, and production-ready surface data. One source, one person, no translation loss between design intent and manufacturing reality.
